Our Hike and Could You live in the Wild?
Now that it's been a few days since our hike and you experienced being outside in a mountain, do you think you could be as successful as Sam and live on mountain? Explain.
Hi um I think yes because when I was hiking up the mountain there was a couple of slipping and falling but we all made it and it kind of made me feel very successful and the air in your hair and body after a very long hike I think it is very successful and I also think Sam would feel the same way when he finally got up the mountain after a very long journey. C.T
No I don’t think I would be as successful at living on a mountain because it would be cold at night maybe and if I get sick there is no doctor and there is no medicine. And I don’t want to wear the same clothes every day ether. A,A
No I do not think I would live in a mountain like Sam because I would need to take a shower with cold water and be cold at night. I would need to cache food and sleep in a tree and live in tree to. I think I would get sick and need a doctor to take care of me. And I would miss my mom and family, I think I would be scared if I had a pet bird and would have to take care of it. S. R .A
No, I don’t think I would be as successful at living on a mountain as Sam is because food will be a big problem. I would end up drinking dirty water. It would be to cold in the winter and to hot in the summer. I would keep getting sick. Bugs will be biting me especially in the summer. I would have to wear the same clothes every day. Keeping warm would be a problem. Taking a bath and shower would be hard to do especially in dirty water. I wouldn’t know where to live and I would have problems washing my clothes. I would have problems breathing especially in the winter and I would have nothing to protect me from bugs and the sun. O.M
I would not last a day on a mountain because of the weather and I don’t know how to make a house and I don’t know how to make clothes. If I lived on a mountain I would die. I like mountains they are just hard to live on because it is hard to find food on a mountain because it might be poisonous and it is hard to find stuff to cook on it. M.B.
No, I don’t think I would be as successful as Sam living on a mountain. You’d need a lot of supplies and food. You need to know a lot about living in the wilderness how to get food, how to live, and how to communicate with animals so it won’t attack. You would also need to know where the safest place to live is. The bath water would be the lakes and ponds and gross water. You have to drink that kind of water too, if you want to. You have to hunt for food and clothing like deerskin. That’s why I don’t think I could be as successful Sam at living on a mountain. N.V.S
Yes, I think will be as successful as Sam living on the mountains, because first of all I am reading the My Side of the Mountain book and there is a lot of useful things I learned, like building a fire, making food, making a nice shelter, and finding a nice place to camp and I could be adventurous on eat the food that Sam was making and eating like venison ah! And I also need the stuff that Sam has and I would do something a little different then Sam like not were my clothes that I made deer skin and go to town! I am ready for it YA! Maybe!!!!!?? I.Q Peace!
Yes, I think I would be successful living on a mountain because you need water, supplies, and a couple of snacks. Then find a camp site were you can do everything or put supplies. But I think I would not be successful living on a mountain because when you run out of snacks your going to eat some disgusting things like rabbit flesh and meat for dinner and 10 crickets for desert. Also, trying to hunt for food is really difficult but trying to stay warm with out getting a little shiver is a pain in the neck. So if I were Sam Gribley I would have ran back home crying and say “I CANT TAKE IT mom hug me I’m cold!” And that is why I mostly would not be successful or survive on a mountain like Sam Gribley. AJM
NO, because I could not stay outside for the winter with no supplies or food. I would half to have some friends to play with every day. In the spring, summer and fall there will be no place to go to the bathroom. In the fall you could take a part a scare crow and get the stick from it and get claws and you will make a rake.M.D
No. Now that I have hiked up a mountain I don’t think I will be as successful because there are a lot of bugs , it is very hot , it is very muddy , and I don’t think that I would survive for almost a year like Sam did. E.A
No because there are lots of other animals like bears. I will have no where to live and sleep. There are to much bugs & mosquito .I will need some clothes to were .the mountain is not a good place to stay because there are some scare animals .their are some noisy birds & you can get poison ivy .this is why I don’t want to live on the mountain. L.D.M$
No, because there are so many flies and there’s no place to live. All the trees have no holes that you can make it bigger to live in it. There are so many animals like, salamanders, toads, and lots more. The mountain is not comfortable to stay in the hot sun without any good place with shade. On the mountain there are so many rocks that are not smooth. This is why I don’t want to live on a Mountain. K.S
No, because there are too many animals and bugs and now where too go to live and too many salamanders, toads, birds, and other animals like a raccoon, weasel, and other hikers in the wilderness that will bring you back home and you can get poison ivy and if you are with someone you can spread it with a lot of people that is why I said no.F,D
