The Setting

Would the story be any different if the story took place in the woods behind a development of houses?

  1. Yes,Because Sam Gribley/main character would be found easier because people proably would find him and report him to the cops and they will lock him in the slammer.

  2. YES,because in my head I see a picture of him in the woods alone and abandon, and also living on acres of snow and grass.I did not see any houses and buildings all I saw was acres and acres of land. I think the Bill's house is in a city and Sam is in the woods. And that is why I said yes.Levanagh :)

  3. No,because the library was one of the places at the Catskill Mountains and Gribley Farm.In the story their were trees and woods all over the grounds. The story would'nt be diffrent if the story took. Kwaku

  4. No,because I can not see him when I go inside the house and Sam will not be safe because their are pickers in the woods I already got picked and they hurt bad so he should not live their.

  7. No because people will take him back to his crowded house. Also, if the setting wasn't in the Catskills Moutains he wouldn't have found his great-grandfathers farm. Another thing is that Sam wouldn't have met Miss. Turner and bill,a old man.Ana

back-yard woods because there are no natural plants. Also because there are no animals like:Tethers,Warblers,or Duck-Hawks.(I asume.)

  9. No because people will take him back to his boring and crowded home, the home that Sam does not like at all. If I was Sam I would do the samething. ALYSSA

  13. No,because people will report Sam to the the police and send him home to his crowded and boring home.Sam's home has 11 brothers and sisters, including his parents. Also the story would be very different because in the Catskill Moutains Sam would be free in a suclusive place with nature and the wild.If the setting wasn't in the Catskill Moutains Sam wouln't have found his Great grandfather's farm. 14. Yes,the story would be very different because Sam would have got caught and been reported to the police and go back to the crowed city where his 11 brothers and sisters live and it would also be different because instead of exploring the nature, find his own food, see his great grandfathers farm then the story would be short and kind of boring oh and not much adventures that would create emoitons that a great book can cause.

  15. Yes,because Sam would already been caught by the people in the houses because turn around to the front of the house and go investigate in the woods. They'd probably recognize Sam and his tree then send him back to his boring home and with his gigantic family with 11 brothers and sisters. Sam wouldn't like that. [Nick]

  16. Yes, it acttually would cause if Sam livefd in the woods he would already know how to make a fire and any way I heard that some peoples in those days sometimes made there own houses when they are not close to land. So if Sam lived in or his backyard was the forest his parents would've made a house big enough for eleven brothers and sisters and he would've not ran away and when he needs a little quite time he could go out in the woods for a while and come back before it would get dark or just come for a while thengo back and then when it's dark he will come back home, and that would change the story he wouldn't meet the falcon and that's how it would make the story different if Sam's family's backyard were forests or woods.

  17. Yes,the story would be different if the setting was in the woods behind someones house because the person who lives in that house will maybe call the police and the police would sent Sam back to his crowded apartment with his family. Also,he wouldn't get to see and meet Mrs Turner, who shows him maps of Gribley farm.Bill, who gives him warmth and food. And Frightful,a perigerene falcon who hunts for food for Sam to eat.
